Terms and privacy

Plain-language version. This page explains how Maida works and what we do with your data. The full legal terms are being finalised and reviewed before launch; until then, write to [email protected] with any question.
Booking a table
Maida shows the times a restaurant can really seat your party, using that restaurant's own hours, tables and booking rules. When you confirm, the table is held for you and nobody else can book it for the same time. You get a confirmation and a reminder by email.
The restaurant runs its own service: its menu, prices, opening hours and how long a table is kept for a late arrival are its decisions, not Maida's. If a restaurant has to change or cancel a booking, it can, and you will be told.
Your part
- Give a real name, email and phone number, so the restaurant can reach you about your booking.
- Arrive on time, or cancel if you can't make it — someone else can then have the table. A restaurant may record a booking as a no-show when nobody arrives.
- Only book tables you intend to use. We may limit or close accounts that are used to block tables or misuse the service.
Checking in at the table
Some restaurants have a Maida code on each table. Scanning it lets the team know you have arrived — it only works for your own booking, at that restaurant, around your booking time.
Your account
You need an account with a confirmed email to book. Keep your password to yourself; changing it signs you out everywhere. You can stop using Maida at any time and ask us to delete your account (see Privacy).
The subscription
Maida is a paid monthly subscription, billed through Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider and merchant of record — so your invoices and receipts come from them. Prices are shown before you subscribe and exclude VAT. There is one subscription with everything included: no limits on tables, combinations or booking rules.
You can update your card, see your billing history and cancel from Account and billing in your dashboard. If a payment fails, we tell you and give you time to fix it before your restaurant stops taking bookings.
Your restaurant on Maida
- One account runs one restaurant.
- You are responsible for keeping your hours, closures, tables and details accurate, and for honouring the bookings Maida confirms for you.
- Before you go live you make one test booking in your private diner preview. Test bookings save nothing and notify nobody.
- You can change your hours, closures and tables at any time; when a change would affect bookings already made, Maida shows you which ones first.
Guest information
You see the details of the guests who booked with you, to run their booking: name, phone, party size, time, and any requests or allergies they share. Use them only for that — not for marketing they did not agree to, and never resold. You never see guests who did not book with you.
What we keep
Diners
- Your name, email and phone number.
- Allergies or dietary notes, if you choose to add them, and any requests you leave on a booking.
- Your bookings and visits: restaurant, date, time, party size, and whether you checked in, cancelled or did not arrive.
Restaurant owners
- Your name, email and phone number, and your restaurant's details.
- Your subscription status. Card details are held by Lemon Squeezy, not by Maida — we only see the card type and last four digits.
Who sees it
A restaurant sees your details only when you book with it, and only to run that booking. We share data with the providers that run Maida for us — hosting, our database, email delivery and, for restaurant owners, payments — and only as far as they need to provide that service. We never sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Cookies
Maida uses one essential cookie to keep you signed in securely. There are no advertising or analytics trackers.
Your choices
- Edit your name, phone and allergies from your account at any time.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or for your account to be deleted, by writing to [email protected] from the address you signed up with. We keep only what the law requires us to keep (for example, invoices).
